Tall Lighthouse

A short history...

Tall lighthouse is an independent publishing house based in the UK, established in 1999 by Les Robinson. It publishes full collections of poetry and pamphlets, and has featured work from established and emerging poets alike, such as Hugo Williams, Daljit Nagra and Roddy Lumsden. It has received regular award nominations over the years both as a press and for individual collections. Tall lighthouse has published over 100 titles with more than 40 authors.

It has a particularly strong record in breaking new talent, and was the first in the UK to publish Helen Mort, Ben Parker, Liz Berry, Emily Berry, Alan Buckley, Harry Man and many, many others.

The current Director and Editor of the press is Gareth Lewis, who took over after Les Robinson stepped down from those roles on 1 October 2011.

What's next?

Tall lighthouse publishes about three titles a year. Last year we published three titles, Matt Haw's "Saint Paul de Mausole", Josephine Corcoran's "The Misplaced House" and Chelsea Cargill's "Shooting the Moon". On the slate this year is James McKay's second full collection, "Very Friendly Weapons" and Richard Kemp's first pamphlet, "Pipes Under the Sink". All titles that were published after 2011 are available for delivery in the UK and the USA.
